So, you’ve started wondering what the hell happened? Why is it 20 degrees outside, and I’m a sauna steaming up the inside of my car!?
Did I just yell at that small innocent child for looking at me kind of funny?
Yep, it’s 2am and I’m wide awake again. Oh yeah and I’m sweating like I just stepped into a hot yoga class, although this is NOT relaxing…
Guys are you side glancing at the other guys in the gym thinking, “Is that guy lifting more than me? He looks to be my age!” And who the hell put the fluff-n-stuff into my mid-section.
Yes, this is most likely all because of the Whack-a-do ride that your hormones are taking you on. And yes, they are in charge.
BUT, they don’t have to be.
As we approach our 30s, 40s, and 50s, a lot starts changing. For women, our estrogen begins to taper down, which leads to so many unwanted and unpleasant changes.
- Hot flashes
- Mood swings
- Belly fat
- Thinning Hair
- Decreased Libido
- Brain Fog
- Irritability
- Sleep Disruption
- Fatigue – uh yeah, can’t sleep!
- JUST NOT FEELING LIKE YOU!
By now you have probably heard about how the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) published starting in 2002 showed concerns for increased risk of Breast Cancer, Coronary Artery Disease, and Stroke with Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). It frightened Doctors right out of prescribing a therapy that could really have improved the lives of so many women.
What is fantastic is that has since been determined to be untrue. It was discovered that the information was skewed due to the population and the type of hormone that was being utilized. A majority of the women in the study were over 60yrs old and/or 10yrs out of Menopause. And all took Prempro which was estrogen and a synthetic progestin.
It has now been determined that Hormone Replacement Therapy to be safe when prescribed in the right context and patient population. In an article I found online, Dr. Laila Shehadeh, and OBGYN at Henry Ford Hospital in March of 2025 stated, “Research has found that women who started HRT within 10 years of menopause had a 30% lower mortality rate and 26% lower risk of dementia and 48% lower risk of heart disease compared to women who took a placebo.”
So calling all ladies heading into perimenopause and who are Menopausal, it is time to RISE ON UP and get to kicking off those feelings of fatigue. Let’s get you back to feeling like yourself. HRT has SO many Benefits when started at the right time:
- Increased libido (oh yeah!)
- Decrease/Abolish Hot Flashes
- Decreased Stress Incontinence
- Improve mood
- Decrease Brain Fog
- Increase muscle mass
- Improve weight loss
- Improve Metabolism
- Reduce Hair Loss
- Maintain Bone Density
- Possibly Decrease Dementia
- Improved skin
- Get YOU back! (and get dancing!)
For you ladies, timing is important. As of now, the research guides that HRT should be started within 10 yrs of the onset of Menopause and/or under age 60 yrs old. So let’s get started.
Now, for women out of those ranges, there still may be options. There is vaginal estrogen which is lower dose and may still offer benefits for Urinary Incontinence and Sexual Health. The research is ongoing.
GUYS! We haven’t forgotten about YOU!
Alright Guys, let’s talk testosterone. It’s Testosterone that seems to be racing toward the downhill ski jump faster than Jahmyr Gibbs of Detroit heading for the end zone.
Guys, you also get:
- Brain Fog
- Weight Gain
- Lower Energy or Motivation
- Loss of Muscle Strength
- Memory Issues
- Erectile Dysfunction
- Sometimes even decreased libido, which you thought was impossible to affect. And who wants to talk about that! Well, we do.
For men, timing isn’t as crucial, so hey 40s, 50s or 80s, let’s do it! Let’s get your mojo back in the gym and the bedroom!
Other Benefits:
- Decreased Brain Fog
- Increased Energy
- Reduced ED
- Increasing Muscle Mass
- Improve Mood
- Supports Fass Loss
- Improved Sleep
Younger men, under 40, there is more concern if you are trying to have kids. If you try to supplement with testosterone as a young male, your own testicles will decrease or possibly stop producing testosterone which can affect your fertility in the future, so best not to start too young unless you have weighed all the effects and options.
There are so many benefits to Hormone Replacement Therapy. It is a new Frontier that can give you, YOU back. So, in summary, Let’s get those Hormones BACK ON TRACK! And get YOU back on the track!
Are there natural solutions? Some. And we’ll cover that in another blog soon!
